Interferometric Intensity Pattern
This is an animated GIF (230k) showing the intensity as a function of position on the image plane of a light wavefront passing through two rectangular apertures. Each animation frame represents the intensity pattern for a different wavefront incidence angle. Hence, the animation shows what the intensity spot on an image screen would look like as we move along with the spot as the input wavefront field angle varies. An example would be a star moving across the field of view of a telescope with an interferometer attached.

CRTB Energy Surface
An image of the restricted three-body energy manifold. In the circular restricted three-body problem, we have the simple situation of a massless particle orbiting in the gravitational field of a binary. This surface is the "energy" surface of the massless particle, viewed in the frame of reference that rotates with the binary pair of masses. Hence, in this coordinate frame the more massive member of the binary is fixed at (0,0), and the less massive member of the binary is fixed at (0,1). The image shown here is the surface in (x,y,energy) space that the massless particle is constrained to.
